My name is Peter Goeman and I am Professor of Old Testament and Biblical Languages at Shepherd’s Theological Seminary in Cary, NC.

The Purpose of This Website

I started this website so that I could blog about passages of Scripture, discuss ideas, and also upload articles or things I think may be helpful for others. This site also provides a way to contact me for those who don’t have access to my email or phone number.

My Brief Testimony

I was born into a Christian family in the small town of Brainerd, MN. I grew up there until 9th grade, when I moved to Grand Rapids, MN. Sometime early in my life I saw the need to submit my life to Jesus, and I was baptized, believing that Jesus alone provided me the way to heaven. When my family moved to Grand Rapids, we got involved with a church plant which really stimulated my spiritual growth. It was through my years in High School that I began to really desire the things of God, and that continued to develop through my time in college.

I came to California for mainly one reason, and that was for baseball. In Minnesota, winter tends to last from September through June! Thus, I decided to go where I could play year round! Heading into my Freshman year I packed my bags and moved out to Santa Clarita, to The Master’s University (TMU).

While at TMU, God allowed me to lead some Bible studies, and those experiences helped shape my heart for a passion to help God’s people to learn His word. It was through those experiences that my desire to go to seminary grew, and that ultimately led me to The Master’s Seminary where I got my PhD in Old Testament Studies.

My desire to be involved in training church leaders is largely a result of the special men God introduced me to along the way. I am thankful for those men God has used to train me how to live, and how they poured into my life at the university and seminary. It is my goal to be faithful and to pass on what I have learned to train the next generation of leaders to live for Christ and help others do the same.

I would love to hear from you. Please use the Contact page and drop me a note.
